Not Gonna Lie.. Somewhat Offended

You know what I hate? Overused stereotypes based on sexuality.
I was aware what I was getting myself into when I watched this, I know that no forms of media (except for books maybe) can ever portray homosexuality in a realistic fashion, I just wasn't expecting it on this much of a scale.

Okay, a little justification for anybody who may see this as queer bashing, I'm gay myself and I'm not queer bashing so much as expressing my loathing towards the portrayal of gay guys in every single bloody film I come across these days.

Firstly, the characters are all so bloody one dimensional! Okay, so I'm hardly the most masculine of men myself, but I find the very notion that somebody would define their entire personality by what they like to shove their penis into or have shoved into their orifices completely farcical! I'm aware it happens but that's actually a minority of homosexuals. For the vast majority of us it is a sexual preference and a sexual preference alone! Can we please have more movies where the gay guy is just your average Joe who happens to like men? Is that really too much to ask for?

Moving on, there is little to no comedy in this film, it's all just references to pop-culture and this generic "Let's all point and laugh at how gay there!" bullocks that we ALWAYS BLOODY SEE! Stop this crap, it's belittling! Now I'm aware that the cast and production team of this film were likely all gay themselves (Graham Norton, how could you, man? I can't look at you in the same way anymore).. So why then, are they making a mockery of their own sexuality? What are we? Freaking limp wristed circus clowns?

Oh and then you guys want to mock the lesbians as well? Go screw yourselves.

Bah, I'm still angry about this having only seen it tonight.. I shall return when I am in a calmer mind set and continue this discussion further if anybody has anything at all to add.
