Looks and Sounds Incredibly Offensive

Eh yeah, I am gay. Sometimes proud to say that, other times not so much...
Honestly, have not seen the film, but from what I've read it does not sound like a positive experience. Does not sound like something anyone could really enjoy.
Yeah, perhaps I'd laugh, but I'd be laughing at how ridiculous this is, laughing at the stereotype that people think I should follow.
This film shouldn't have been made, and do you know why?
Because homosexuals are still a minority. Films that are homophobic at this point do cause damage. With heterosexual viewers we can hope that they won't take this seriously, we can hope they won't take the way gays are portrayed in this to heart, but we all know it can get in there subconsciously and affect our worldview. That's what negative stereotypes do.
To anyone who has seen this film, please only laugh but then forget... because deep down we're not really like that, every homosexual should strive to rise above what is pictured in this film.

I'm straight, I've seen this and there are no stereotypes to be found. There is a spectrum of gay characters, by that I mean you will find the flamboyant gay character and you will find the masculine jock type you would never suspect as gay. The movie is actually nothing more than a parody of all those raunchy teen comedies full of sex and debauchery, just with gay leads. They're portrayed as the same type of horny teens that the heterosexuals in those other movies are. The director, who is gay, made what he felt was a movie that didn't play up the fact of the characters sexuality and where no mention was made, or thought given to the fact that they are gay by other characters. Maybe you still don't find this type of movie humorous, but IMO you need not avoid it for fear of being bombarded by stereotypes and images of supposed poor treatment of homosexuals by "straighty." I'm also black and we too are a minority, but I have no problem finding the humor in parodies that suggest all black people live in the 'hood and all black women have five kids by the time they're eighteen, feeding them all on government cheese. Oh and all five baby daddies are in prison. I'm living proof that not all black women are like that. I don't have to be ashamed of seeing stereotypes on TV that suggest this about my race, because I don't represent those stereotypes. If you don't represent the stereotype you have nothing to be ashamed of either. Be you and be glad that you're not a shameless "parody."

Well, I wouldn't say there are NO stereotypes to be found, one of the main characters is a huge stereotype, but the entire movie is exaggerated and I find it funny.

Homosexuals are still a minority? Do you envision a time when they're not?

he probably just meant that they are still discriminated against, seems kind of weird otherwise..

I am straight and my best friend is gay and because of him I have been exposed to a lot of gay cinema. When he first showed me this film he told me it was American pie if all the main characters were gay. We watched it and I wasn't offended by anything, but we did laugh a lot. I feel it was just a spoof/satire/parody which ever word you want to use. My point is that of course this film does not represent all gays anymore than american pie represents all straight people. I certainly have never stuck my dick in an apple pie. So take it for what it is, a stupid but funny comedy.

I'm not saying I don't trust you and I'm not saying I do, but I don't:)

Great point!
Yeah, the movie IS kind of disturbing, but does it very well. I like it a lot.

Nope, that's as far as your point goes.

Sir, I wish to shake your hand in a gentlemanly fashion!
Glad to see there are others who are sick of all this categorization within the gay community.
