Why no rating in the US?

Does anyone know why it isn't rated in the US?

Because

1) it contains brief hardcore snippets and would have gotten an NC-17.

2) it's a small arthouse movie for adults and the rating doesn't matter anyway.

There aren't any hardcore snippets--all the sex was faked. However there was plenty of male nudity,VERY frank sex talk and extremely disgusting humor. All that would have easily given it an NC-17. And art houses DO go by ratings. A bunch of teenage kids tried to get in when it played the art house here and they were denied tickets.
