Pondering on the Mecha-Cat Beast

I don't know about anyone else, but what got me very interested in the short is the mecha-cat skeletal monster that was hunting the ragdolls. It was both creepy and fascinating the way the beast stalked and moved. Also the sounds it created. From the creaking of the metal gears to the deep growling as it planned it's next attack. I noticed in the feature movie that in the trailer the beast was no longer wearing the "hides" of the ragdolls it caught. Maybe because their still alive in the movie or perhaps it will start collecting and wearing the skins later in the movie, we will just have to wait and see.

Also in an interview with Acker about the short, he said the creature was collecting the ragdolls hides as it was trying to make itself like them. As they had souls and used their intellect while the creature mainly relied on instinct. Again I wonder if the cat beast will have these same motives in the future movie. I hope so as that is very deep rather then just grabbing them for no reason or being used as a henchmen.

I don't see why they'd change the cat monster's purpose in the feature film, starting with the fact that Mr Shane Acker will be directing it himself.
If we look at both the short and the upcoming movie's trailer, there's not much difference visually. I'm certain Mr Acker will just take his opportunity to tell the whole story from the begining. Or at least that's what I hope.
Will be looking forward to this.
