Moses - signs of mental illness?

You know what? I actually like religion. I have utmost respect for those who have faith in almost any religion. I think they do it to better themselves, and because they take a positive path for the good of humanity.

But watching this movie, I couldn't help but think, a far more logical explanation of the story of Moses is that he is a guy who had a mental illness such as skitzophrenia or psychosis. Someone who heard voices speaking to him, who was puzzled by them, who walked off by himself and thought he saw things. He came back and claimed things, and this time, unlike the million other cases of skitzophrenia, people actually believed him?

Other than the water being split - and the plagues.. But i mean hey... did he really split the ocean like that? How come we never seen anything liek that with our own eyes :( *sad face*

Anyway, not only the voices and claiming he was acting for god. But what about the odd decisions to go and slaughter a group of people? Or to stone to death a couple that made a mistake but showed great regret/remourse and asked for forgiveness? What about when he SLAUGHTERED half of his tribe while they were on their knees begging for mercy?

It speaks for itself.... thoughts?

The story of Moses, the Biblical story of Moses, is all 100% true; yes, with God's help, he really parted the Red Sea (cool, huh?).
And, no, he wasn't crazy...that really was God speaking to Him, and telling him where to go and what to do for the good of the people. Remember, the story in the Bible is a little different from this somewhat altered movie version. Read the book of Exodus, it's an awesome story, and makes it easy to see that Moses was far from crazy...
If he was insane, how could he have written the first five books of the Bible, anyway? :)

But he was skitzophrenic, right?

Ummmm....no.
The Bible will tell you exactly what happened. He was an ordinary guy that God used in an extraordinary way, that's all. No craziness involved!
