Farleigh centred ramblings on the last episode

Well, the highlight of the last episode has to be Richard kissing Deb on each cheek when they backed the cheesy shoe man. She’s soo lucky!!! and she gets to be in the Farleigh presence all the time.

Georgous Richard defended Deb in an interview with the Guardian, taking offence at how she had she had been described by their TV reviewer, as

“a sour-faced woman, furious-looking, middle-aged, disapproving matron type, which means Davies has to be careful not to use the word "dragon" when the camera's pointing her way. She's far sourer than her female predecessor. You wouldn't catch Deborah Meaden hanging a dreamcatcher over her bed. A burglar, perhaps, but not a dreamcatcher. If the first episode's anything to go by, she a) hasn't smiled since the Belgrano went down and b) could chew the tin balls off a Cyberman. *beep* with the Meaden, and you're getting OWNED, bitch”

I found the whole review hilarious rather than offensive; you can read it on Guardian Unlimited:

As well you can read Richard's later interview. In the paper version (sadly not online) there is a lovely photo of him in a light brown cordey suit and open neck blue shirt, teasing us with a glimpse of manly chest hair!! (Currently now on my pin board)

Richard loyally defends Deb saying she is a lovely person and a good friend!! (makes me love him even more). Although the review is hardly flattering about him saying he has a head like a cube and that his hair is dodgy!! – Unforgivable to dis the Farleigh locks.

I’m not sure what the general opinion on Deb is, do you like her? I was always momentarily blinded by all the colours on her, the blond hair, v. blue eyes, red lipstick, pinky skin, and green shirt, now she’s stopped looking like an artist’s palette, she looks a lot prettier. I want her to smile more, it was a bit unnecessary to remain stony faced at the puppet man’s impression (perhaps is was cut out?), all the other dragons smiled, even peter!! the lovely, well mannered Farleigh’s was the first (of course). Apparently (according to heat) she and Theo are often teeming up on projects, and all the other dragons (even Richard) have been teasing them about it!!

It makes me wonder who is friends with who, I recon Duncan and Richard are friends, he said ‘well done mate’ when Duncan did the Razzmatazz deal, and went to his wedding, (as did Evan and Theo). I can’t imagine Peter and Richard going for a beer after the show!!!

I’d better stop now before this become too long for anyone to bear reading, I really could go on!! lol

p.s -Thanks High Priestess, my fellow Farleigh lover!!

Another great episode, and the double kiss was a highlight! (Lucky Debra!)

But lets not forget the slight glimse we caught of Richard on the surfboard mat thing....does Richard surf? He seemed pretty able by the way he jumped from lying down to surf postion! (I know nothing about surfing!)

I'm not surpised that Richard defended Debra, it shows that he is respectful of her and gallant. I like that becasue it is really easy for cheap swipes to be made about her appearance.

Debra can be hard nosed, but I quite like her for it. I could learn a few things from her during business meetings....

As for Rachel Elnaugh - I liked her but to be honest, I cant really remeber much about her comments. I dont remember her being hard nosed like Debra.
It is a shame her business went under, I wonder what happened there?

I wonder if any of the dragons are real friends or more business partners? It is nice that Richard went to Duncan's wedding though. I'm going to check that footage out when I get home tonight, thanks for the link!

Yup - cant see Richard and Peter going for a drink afterwards!! Theo seems very amicable, I find it hard to imagine that anyone couldnt get on with him, what do you think?

Cant wait for more Farleigh moments in the next episode, I am going to miss this show when the season ends!!

It’s the last episode tomorrow; I can’t bear to think about it!! I’m consoling myself that as long as the programme gets ratings and the dragons millions hold out, that there’ll be a new series. It’ll be interesting to see how these investments pan out. Will the Dragons loose money? – It would be ironic if they did. It’d affect Richard the most, as his fortune is less than the others (I believe), yet he has invested the most on average in last series and a substantial amount in this one, so I hope they don’t fail!! Although I’d bet he has more than enough reserved to maintain his lifestyle- we need not worry that his auzzie soap star/fashion plate image will change.

I loved his demonstration of the surf mat too!! Though I don’t think it’s his regular hobby, I did read that he plays tennis in Monaco three times a week (thinks it’s more interesting than going to the gym) and he likes skiing, so bounding up and down on a towel was no probs for the toned Farleigh limbs.

Perhaps it’s just because for me ‘dragons den’ is more ‘Farleigh swooning time’ but I have noticed that he’s always trying out the inventions. It was hilarious when he was having his head strapped to that flight cushion thing!! He also got up to inspect the infamous washing line protector. Do you remember when he got his leg waxed in the last series? I wish they’d shown the full pitch. He also drank that berry drink that had Viagra in it without hesitation!! You know he’d volunteer to try your product to be polite!! What would you most like to demonstrate to the Dragons using Richard as your willing victim?

I’m trying to like Deb; she seems very confident and clued in, her eyes are very blue, and she’s more animated behind the scenes (and she has a sexy laugh). It’s just that she seems a bit intimidating, if I was going to the pub for a drink, even though I admire successful women, I’d feel a bit on edge with Deb.

Your right Theo does seem easy to get on with, but I recon there’s a lot of competition there with all of them. I’ve heard that Peter and Duncan aren’t best friends. I recon Duncan and Deborah get on cos they were sitting together in one of the caravans in the offset footage.

I started watching the den after Rachel had left so I don’t really have a strong opinion on her. But I did read online that she wrote an apology to one of the contestants (I think it was a man who had invented an improved kind of shaving cream. He’d had some unusual job in Canada and she’d called him a fantasist). I liked it that she admitted that she’d been wrong and apologised.

Would you rather be a contestant or a dragon? Or Farleigh’s PA, or his hair dresser, (you’d get to run your fingers through that shiny hair), or his tennis coach, or his masseuse or his opponent at the chess Olympics, the manager of home house (the private club he began)?. Also if you were to interview him for a newspaper in his house in Monaco what would you ask him?

Dragons Den is definately swooning time for me too! Oh my God, I am so jealous of his wife!

Is is great that he is so hands on, I wonder why the other dragons dont try out the products also?! Richard seems like the only one up for that type of foolery.... I get the impression that the other dragons dont want to give away their cool, they may find jumping around on mats, having limbs waxed, strapping head to a cushion etc a little embarrassing! Cant think why....

I think I would prefer to be a dragon rather than a contestant, simply because I would love to be such a position of knowledge and authority. Also, such close proximity to Richard would have to be a bonus! However, being a successful contestant would be great! How exciting it must be!

As for questions, I would like to ask him how he remains so down to earth and approachable, considering the position he is in. If I was interviewing him for a newspaper, I would ask him about his opinions on economic issues facing the devolping world, or something appropriately serious!!

But really, I'd love to ask him silly questions like does he watch Neighbours!!!

Cant wait for tonights episode!!
