This show is stupid.

Why spend thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours to con people into doing things that you could have done in 15 minutes if you just got off of your lazy butt?

I like the premise, but I hate the execution. The cons are so stupid.

reply

Yeah, it's just a stupid fake show.
Why waste a week and a thousand dollars to get a $200 make over?

reply

It did not cost a 1,000 dollars. Think about it. I have been doing these "cons" for years with my friends in Michigan. We get a camera and act like a "crew"....usually we didn't even have a tape in the camera when we shot originally...why? To save money. Then, we would call up the place and say, "Hey, we are coming to your place to shoot", then we would....the original one we did (that never aired), but sold the show was me at this salon in San Diego....me and 5 friends got a makeover...it was priceless...

We never wasted a week, we simply made one call...then we each got 600 dollar makeovers for free....and we took our buds out to dinner that "fake filmed" us...

So in answer to your comment, that again holds no ground, the only people that paid for anything was Comedy Central....and they have to pay the crew, or there is no show...just like if you were watching a documentary in theaters about a con artist or one on HBO, you would have to pay someone something...

The crew cost money. The lawyers cost money (for clearances). The editing did too. But these are things to make the "episode", not the "con"....you could still pull them off with no money and I always do. Give me your name and address and I will show how easy it is, i will con you...ha....

Skyler, the only thing I liked about your show was the shirt you wore in the first episode. That shirt is way funnier than you will ever be, which isn't saying much. You are an arrogant, sad, and unbelievably obnoxious man. I would say good riddance to the worst show on Comedy Central, but that spot is reserved for Drawn Together, so good riddance to the runner-up worst show on Comedy Central.

reply

Are you kidding? If you go out on a limb to say he is arrogant man for making a show that cons people then you need to watch more television before you speak. You have no idea what you are talking about. Just because he acts a certain way in the show doesn't mean he is "sad" or "obnoxious". Wake up and look around you dolt, you can't base an offensive assumption off what you see on t.v. By the way, CON is definately is one of the better shows made on Comedy Central, if you want to talk about bad shows try "Stella" or "Trigger Happy TV".

reply

Because he "acts" a certain way? This show is his idea, his creation. I understand where you're coming from, but this isn't a character. This is who Skyler Stone is.
He's a hack. "Con" made Mind of Mencia look...well, almost watchable. And if Con isn't proof enough for you, watch one of the movies on his website. I've seen inanimate objects with more talent than this moron. Seriously though, markmkm88, what are some of your favorite shows on Comedy Central? I'm curious.

P.S. I really hope that Skyler Stone posts a reply to this in which he tells me that obviously I hate comedy and I'm just jealous of his "success." I'm sure he'll find the time, I can't imagine he's getting much work.

reply

Hahaha!

Fair enough, I respect the idea of the show, and I really did try to like it, and I do admit I've only seen two episodes, but it just seems like the cons aren't that spectacular.

I saw the ad for the show and just loved the premise, but when it comes down to it, even if it was hilarious in real life, the hilarity just didn't translate onto film.

The one where you got the hot girls to clean your apartment just seemed like so much trouble for such a simple thing.

I'll give the show another chance though, I really truly do like the premise.

reply

Really? Well it's still not funny.

And what about the disclaimer? It says that everyone has been paid for their goods and services. That's not conning at all, that's paying people to do what they do for a living.

reply

you're mike st. aubin like i'm michael jordan. this show is a waste of time, which is why it isn't on anymore.

you guys say its a stupid show and that its "fake" but the majority of the "reality" tv shows on tv are scripted. theres no such thing as reality television anymore and its all for entertainment purposes or why else would it be on tv? im sure you guys probably watch viva la bam or some other crap show where all they do is flaunt their money and act like asses on tv. it obvious that its scripted. clearly obvious. but you guys watch it anyway. at least con did stuff that you could actually do yourself and it had some thought put into it. sure some of it was reinacted but it was for entertainment purposes. i definetly think it was a hellofalot better than the other shows they have on comedy central. drawn together? distraction? thats my bush? i could just keep going. bottom line is that its better then the majority of the crap thats out there and at least it was clever.

reply

Every "con" in this show uses the premise that he is filming a reality show. Take away the cell phones and the camera crew that Comedy Central provides and you couldn't pull it off. Beyond that, the only other cons I have seen are closer to identity theft and outright shoplifting than they are to "con" jobs.

The worse part, is that this show is not funny, nor is it entertaining. I have seen two complete episodes and now I change the channel when it comes on. This show is so bad, you'ld swear it was a Canadian production. Worse than Popcultured at its worst.

reply

Con is way better then most *beep* on t.v., i watched every episode and was excited for the release before it was ever released... I thought it was good and watch more t.v. before you judge so much to call it the second to worst show.

They should put this show back on.I don't care if it's reenacted or anything,Heck I wouldn't care if the show was completely made up and he never conned anyone in his life and every bit was scripted because it's funny.

- This show is so bad, you'ld swear it was a Canadian production

And this argument is so retarded, I'd swear you were an arrogant know-nothing American. And what is "you'ld?" You do know how to properly contract "you" and "would," right? Oh wait, if you went through an American school system, you probably wouldn't.

First off, he doesn't use a reality show as the premise for his cons. I don't think he's EVER explicitly used that as the basis of any con. But of course he has to have cameras there filming, because if he didn't film the cons, there wouldn't BE a show.

reply

Agreed. Con sucked.
