Movie is missing a character

During the period during which the bulk of the movie's story takes place, Johnson wasn't yet the Vice President, and - to my understanding - wasn't even in Washington, DC.

The 13th Amendment passed the House on January 31, 1865. Johnson took office as VP over a month later, on March 4. I believe he was in Tennessee, where he was the military governor, until just before the inauguration.
