Only Ray Winstone could get away with giving Beowulf a Cockney accent

It just worked for him somehow.

reply

A Cockney accent? I don't think so.

reply

Obviously not "pure" Cockney, but you gotta admit it's hard for Winstone to get shot of it, like a lot of Cockney's.

The funniest was him doing a Southie in The Departed:

"It's alright... he don't need his f---ing teef anyway"

reply

Yep, some lines came through completely cockney, to the point that they took you out of the moment.

reply

I thought that too. Reminiscent of his character in "Sexy Beast."

reply

But in Sexy Beast he was supposed to be cockney and used his natural accent

reply

Right. I wasn't arguing. I know that's hard to believe on here!
