Anyone else find this highly retro?

I've read the endless bashing here, with people wondering if this was the result of a bad genetic experiment to cross the Wiggles with The Boobahs, or somesuch. But does anyone else think the real inspiration was Sid and Marty Krofft early '70's weirdness?

reply

Possibly. I never really saw the show you are speaking of.

reply

Actually, I just saw this for the first time this week, when my kids were watching. The very first thing I said to my wife was "This is very Kroft Superstars, isn't it?"

reply

Agreed. Kroft Superstars, but on some sort of mushroom trip...

reply

I've never heard of Sai and Marty Krofft,so I'll just smile and nod.

Think H. R. Pufnstuf:

I was wondering if I was the only one who was seeing a remake of "The Bugaloos" LOL

reply

For the American fans, it is a throwback to the good old days of Sid
& Marty Kroft. A guilty pleasure for me, I did watch the show for a while
and bought the first CD. Catchy music, goofy humor. I can see the
comparrisons to The Wiggles, definitely marketed to the pre-schoolers.

reply

Well, retro is back.

reply

HR Puffinstuff, anyone?

reply

Captain Kool and the Kongs with Michael Lembeck.

I was thinking more Zoobily Zoo. I randomly caught this on TV when I was drunk off my ass in a motel room last week, and I was like "wtf.. is this like Zoobily Zoo the next generation?"

"IMDB... where 14 year olds can pretend to be jaded 40 year old movie critics"
