Try something tough!

If this game has become WAY too simple for you, here's a challenge I took on and struggled with:

Play the entire game from beginning to end, however, you may neither upgrade weapons (you must use level 1's), nor upgrade your skills.

You'll find it very challenging, especially when you start to take down the Cuneos.

Hmmmmmmm....better yet, upgrade all your gun levels and try playing this game, beginning to end without dying once. I have yet mastered it, but I let the Barzinis kill me dumbfoundly when I only had seven more businesses and one compound to destroy. Ugh!

Awesome, i play it just like that! I thought i was the only one. I achieved it just once, and it was going to be a perfect game also, if it wasn't for the only time i failed a mission, a tried to go for a bottle of health and lived the mission area...ouch. But never iced once! The thing is to try to become under-boss as soon as possible, that way you make the more money every payday and you can buy the street sweeper and the Dillinger machine gun pretty soon...thus becoming pretty much invincible. I wanted a special screen for my achievement... ha ha, but nothing of course.
Damn i love this game so much, i wish there were more like it! It's very simple in parts but somehow soooo much addictive.
Also a very easy way to die is when running away from the relentless police after destroying each compound... it took me somehow a lot to realize that it was better to wait for the heat level to go down to at least 3 badges and then calmly leave the area... i could talk about this game forever!

I haven't been able to beat the game since......and I think we have had this discussion for the past two years Postal lol. Congrats on your "no iced, but not perfect" game by the way. The closest I've come to have a perfect and no iced game is the post I gave on this thread a year ago when the Barzinis killed me and I had seven businesses and one Compound left. Sucks!

I hear you! ... I'm giving it a rest now... I've been absurdly addicted to this game for to much time, some times playing it for entire weeks...
It will be always on of my favorites and most played games... up there with, at the time, stuff like the Quake and the GTA series.
I wanted to like Mafia II as much, but playability is no where near to The Godfather game even though Mafia II looks beautiful.

Well the game can easily be beaten and even flawlessly , you just have to have your focus right. You have to have a routine. I start out the game doing the first couple of missions, as soon as I'm done with killing Luca's assassins I go to New Jersey and get that 9 grand in the train yard, then to Brooklyn to get the three grand from the Tattaglia's hidden spot and then buy the room in the Saint Martin's hotel(I think that's what it was called) and then on to rob all five or six banks......bang, I almost have enough for the Assassin's pistol and believe me you, I can go the entire game with that gun alone if I had enough bullets and take down 80 percent warehouses and businesses.

I'll go back to the game one day and see if I can recapture the last moment I had in it where I had one compound and seven businesses left....get my revenge from those Barzinis scum lol

A challenge for me was that I took over the Barzini compound first when I was an Associate. Some day I'll take over every compound right after Luca rescues me from the bad crowd :)

Great, the flying monkeys came and stole my signature. Damn them.
