what was that main theme tune? I though it worked absolutely brilliantly as a kind of sudden change between the pleasent theme and the very cruel program.

all i know is that it's the theme to The Critic

I recognise the tune too. I don't think it's the Critic theme, though.

Anyone else got an idea?

I really want to say "How Many Hearts" by Travis, 'cause I'm sure there was some show that had that as a theme song and I suspect this may be the one...
