I Can Do Science, Me?

As an American, I am enthralled by this show. One of my favorite things are all the British-isms that I haven't caught anywhere else. The one thing that has me perplexed is (as the title of the thread points out) "I can do science, me." Is this a play on a regular British saying? What's the significance of adding "me" at the end of the phrase?

I always thought it was a parody on the people who send in the questions. They seem to onyl s how stupid pointless things, so why shouldn't they say they can do science in a stupid way.

Some people especially in the North of England occasionally add "Me" at the end of a saying. e.g."I'm a like good music me". Glad you like Brainiac
