Why I HATE this show!

I usually end up NOT liking certain shows, (they are very rare on the Discovery Channel), however this show tops my hating list!

First off, it's a copycat from Mythbusters, a smarter, funnier, and more interesting show that Brainiac ever is or will be.

The narrators try so hard to be funny, I fail to see the joke. It's like they are spoon-feeding us the joke with a premade scene, which ends up like a cheap second rate comedy show.

The T&A (tits and ass) are completely inappropriate. Perhaps they realized they have very lame jokes, so they thought of showing a hot nurse instead of acting like a true science show. And their sexual side is so damn cliched mind you. The original cleavages, the original fetish... It's just plain stupid.
I am all for erotica and pornography mind you, but in the correct place and time. When you are showing a real show with real facts, what is the need of the cheesy comedic sexual scenes?

There is no relationship between the "scientists" and the audience. It's like going to school and hearing someone talking to us. While in Mythbusters, its more about who the two main characters are, each with his own REAL style, with his own jokes, with his own personality all together, and their combination works perfectly. They are both memorable, while I doubt I'll remember the last name of "tickle" after today (a name that I read by mistake while getting here to write this post!"

All these factors make me want to stay away from this show as much as I can. I tried to give it a try several times, but I always find myself wanting to see something more interesting, because in the mix of the information that is being provided to me, I am lost with the sexual themes, the cheesy jokes and the lame experiments.

Brainiac = not good!

amen, this is a $hitty mythbusters ripoff with a set of annoying british accents. BOTTOM LINE: SHOULD BE CANCELED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First off, I could care less about your opinion because the show is great. It's like a short episode of Mythbusters. Why are you calling this a rip off of Mythbusters? If you would have actually looked up the release dates (common sense) you would see that this came out in August of 03' in the UK, and it came out here in America two years later. As for Mythbusters, it premiered in October of 03'. (In any case Mythbusters may have ripped off this) So please do us all a favor and SHUT UP!

Mythbusters is fore a more adult audience. The main fans of this show are actually children or perhaps slightly less intelligent adults. Still, its 'lame, childish' humour still has its appeals and Dolly Girl is hot so I will watch.

Mythbusters is OK, but I find the presenters boring on that. As for humour on it, well its ok I guess, but brainiac is more about humour than science. It is like Top Gear, where it is more about comedy than the Car part of the show. If you want decent car reviews, watch Fifth Gear. Same thing with this, if you want a serious show about Science, than watch Mythbusters.

Your point is valid, but it isn't going to stop the show being popular. The quality of programming will not cancel a show, if the simpsons cancelled due to quality and th amount of people who said "This show should be cancelled, it is getting worse" than it would be cancelled. Instead, the people who criticise this show have obviously watched it and have continued to watch it enough to see the recent events and are therefore contributing to ratings. So if you don't like it, don't watch it and maybe enough people will not watch it for it to be cancelled. Doubt it.

Also, for the one who said British accents are annoying. Well, I think American accents are annoying so there we go, eat that.

How can you hate a show that blows *beep* up, puts everything you can imagine into a microwave, and overall has a good time with silly experiments. As for the Mythbusters/Braniac argument goes, I cant really say that one of them copied off of each other, they're pretty different shows. I watch and enjoy both of them, it's science so you cant lose.

I like both shows for their differences, Mythbusters a bit more than Brainiac because Mythbusters do as much as their time/budget allow to prove/disprove the myths they tackle and I really like the ingenious ways they tackle problems and how they go into detail about what they've built and what they're doing.

Brainiac on the other hand is a fun show for the average person, especially with the gratuetous destruction of caravans/cars/microwaves & anything else they think will look pretty when it's engulfed in a fireball and/or exploded into thousands of pieces.

I also hate it.
It isn't funny. They use the cheapest way to attract peoples attention: big tits and asees. Their experiments mostly are stupid. I can agree that putting different things into microweave is interesting, but trying to stop rock'n'roll by destroying stereo? Exploding vagons... Stupid experiments... I think it is show for MTV or something like that, but not for Discovery.

Yeah the Richard Hammond years were good but they've been dreadful since Vic Reeves took over. I'm not surprised they've axed it.

Vic Reeves-era Brainiac is terrible. I appreciate his efforts for standing in for Hammond, and writing a lot of the material, but that doesn't mean I enjoy it. Strangely, I still find myself watching it. But when Richard presented it, it was excellent. Still, I think Mythbusters is so much better than it. They don't go through as many experiments in the same amount of time, but they go through them in more depth.

(However, I think the OP's nitpicking a bit when they say they find the British accent annoying in it. If you watch a British show, you're pretty much guaranteed to find a British accent. That's like complaining a Horror Movie was Scary.)

The reason why you don't like/get it is because it's all ironic. The narrator shoving the puns in your face is ironic. The sexy 'scientists' are ironic. It's not actually trying to appeal to frustrated adolescents...it's making a commentary on the way that some shows do.

for the last time brainiac isn't a copy or ripoff of Mythbusters, i'm pretty sure it came out before our in the same year as mythbusters.

If you don't like the show don't watch it and why are you on the brainiac message boards if you don't like it?
