Best Cirque du Soleils?

I introduced a good friend of mine to Cirque du Soleil with clips of "Varekai" on DVD. We've decided to have a get together soon in tribute of Cirque du Soleil and watch a bunch of them. We have Varekai and Corteo on DVD, but I have'nt really been exposed to any others. So, any suggestions?

(Yep, pretty sure I'm not gonna get a reply on any of the Cirque boards at all.)

I'm afraid you are wrong my friend! I've posted on the other Cirque boards, you may want to check those out...Alegria is *very* good (*cough*opinion*cough =P), and I'd also reccomend Quidam but I couldn't sit through the whole thing...but I guess that's what you get for buying about fifteen Cirque du Soleil DVDs and watching them all in a couple days...lol...anyway back on topic, the only things I watch in Quidam are the clown acts--the hula hoop, dart, and coat hanger dance, to name a few.

I see you started this thread in May. I replied in August. You've probably already found a lot of other Cirque du Soleil shows...all I can can tell you is, "happy watching!"

*grins like an idiot*

reply

Ah, yes... We've already had are Cirque night, unfortunately. :D
I, also, couldn't sit through Quidam. I was even disappointed with Olga, which is a huge shock to me.
Alegria was amazing.
I'm really, really looking forward to "Love" if it coems out on DVD--OH, PLEASE, LET IT COME OUT ON DVD.

If you've never seen it yet, I'd suggest La Nouba (Though technically speaking, you've already had the Cirque night...). I have to say that their power track is better than Alegria's. Catchy music at the beginning, good ending, decent acts, and I found that my favorite character was "The Titan." (he's the tall, bald guy wearing suspender shorts ;-))

I've never heard of "Love." Maybe I should check it out?

reply

I have to say my personal favorite is and will always be La Nouba, I saw it many years ago in Disney and have loved the Cirque Du Soleils...perhaps it was that it is the only show I've seen live, but never-the-less, my favorite..I would tell anyone vacationing to disney to mark it as a must see!

reply

i ADORED la nouba and would reccomend it to anyone and i recently purchased tickets for the new one in New York called Wintuk, ill tell you how it measures up! can i also suggest that you go see them rather than watch, the in theatre experience is a million times better than the dvd!

reply

Yeah, I'm aware. I think I might have already said that somewhere in this board, though, and the original post says that I wanted to show them to my friend, if I remember correctly, and therefore I could not pay for all of the Cirque du Soleil shows--not only for the tickets, but I would also have to pay them to make performances where I live.
Thus, I need DVDs.
