My Own Screenplay Idea

So I just finished a serious string of projects and decided that I wanted to do something fun, something just to be looked at, and talked about. I decided I wanted to make my own Zelda movie. I also decided on going in every opposite direction there is possible I think. So I thought I'd share some info on it, as soon as I complete the next draft I'll send over a link for a looksie, here tell me what you all think:

What Link am I using: Fitting in with the timeline I am using, and the story... simply "Link" will do. An adventurer (of what kind is a bit of his mystery on how he comes about to be who he is in this story) who has fumbled into fame and praise with the king of Hyrule.

Timeline?: Where does it fit in with the rest of the series? What split? For all intents and purposes my story IS the timeline itself. It shall encompass the beginning, the end, and lead into a cyclicle alternate beginning.

Story: Glancing into Hyrules past we see the events that unfold, leading the Kingdom into the united kingdom of Hyrule that we know today.

In Hyrule field a war wages between the Imperial Hyrulian Army, and an Aliance of rogue states fighting for their freedom. In the middle of this is a young adventurer named Link who stumbled into the war on a quest to save his damned soul. The leader of the Hyrulian forces, then "Emperor" Dernum tricked Link into fighting for him as a General in the army after receiving word from his Oracle, the "Sheikah" that the young man was destined to end the war.

Although there were no indications of which side would win, Dernum instructed Link, that within the Elder Valley (Explained later in the story why it does not exist any more) sleeps a great temple in honor of the great goddesses that created everything in the land, and intended upon a United Hyrule.

The Legend of The Elder Temple:

Many years ago, the first war begun in Hyrule. All races of the land competed against each other for domination of the land. The Zora, fought from the sea. The Goron fought from the Mountains. Man fought from the plains... Our divine ones however, seemed to deem it fit to support nobody. Instead they opted for their descendants, the faeries to to unite their supporters and build for them a temple deep within the Valley's of Hyrule. It would be connected through sea, mountain, and passable land.

The Elder Temple would stand as the final means to unite all races of the Goddesses creation together in prayer for their voices to echo to the heavens, so as the Goddesses may hear their gratitude.

As War continued, the land to the Valley became impassable, the lake dried up, and mountains crumbled; Not before a lone adventurer, a Knight of the fallen man had pilgrimaged to the Elder Temple to pray for his forgiveness and express his gratitude.

In showing their eternal appraciation for this mans actions, the great creators had him trapped in the temple for all of time. They had made him their own guardian, The Forever Knight.

As legend states, each goddess one day decided to strip him of his personal belongings. They removed his Shield, his Sword, and his Armor, and made each a holy relic with a single triangle on each... their triangles... their tri-force, and symbol of our creation.

In return they gave him a single dagger, and told him to make a fresh cut on his body once a year, every year. Eventually as he followed his instructions, the valley became darker, and darker as the years progressed. He soon noticed that after a while he had stopped bleeding, instead his blood was replaced with water.

The goddesses said to to him: Your blood will refill the waters of the land, allowing the Zora's salvation. Your body will become one with the soil and rebuild the mountains for the Goron Nation to pass. After this, a soldier of man will come, baring your sword. He will set you free to join us in the heavens, and the sins of our creation with be absolved through unity.

Being the egotistical adventurer that he is, Link sets out on what he has stated to the Emperor to be his final adventure, his final prize. He would seek out the sword and lay the Forever Knight at peace.

Being Skeptical, Link asks one final question before departing: "Why doesn't your majesty take up this grand task and be the savior?" The Emperor replies, "I am needed here, and I am needed home where my Queen is with child."

With this Link departs with the horse Epona, given to him by the Emperor. Little did he know that soon his life would change forever, with a simple encounter with an unlikely ally.

Lost in the forrests, retreated from battle, a Gerudo warrior finds Link and begs for his help. Only after she gives to him her weapon does Link agree to this.

What Link doesn't know is that the fate of Hyrule rests on his horseback, on his shoulders, and in her womb.

-----End-----

So what do you think of the idea? I know its different, but the idea is very simple and a good starting point. I didn't want to do an OOT thing like would be the common ground, but only because I don't want to mess with a good thing. Instead, establishing my own story to coincide.

Also for the first 10 pages, Link doesn't say a single word until the personal guard for the Emperor asks him: "Why must you always remain silent. Don't you ever have anything to say?"

The story takes a slight time twist as well with Hyrule losing the War, and the forest being a time barrier of sorts. Its when Link and the Gerudo leave the forrest and sees what has transpired when he decides that he knows for a certainty what he must do.

And in the end, it should, the ending I currently have anyway sets it up as how we see the Kingdom today.
