Why is the game so popular?

I bought it for the Wii after having heard several people call it amazing and epic. What the hell are they talking about?! The combat is boring and repetative, bosses are way too easy, graphics are dull, and some of the dialouge is WAY to long and the characters don't shut up.

"How about a little less questions and a little more shut the hell up?"

So are you a Xbox or PlayStation fanboy? I know its one of the two.
Yes bosses could be more difficult, but if you didn't suck and use the same move over and over, combat wouldn't be so repetitive, or maybe if you go to a different part of the game that has different enemies.

If the revolution won't be televised I'll probably miss it.
Now playing: Zelda: Phantom Hourglass

Grow a fecking attention span, I bet you're of the type that can't stand it when games don't have any voice acting, therefore you are compelled to completely ignore whatever the characters are saying and just tap the A button endlessly to make the talky people go away, maybe try READING the dialogue, it's actually really rather important, gameplay wise, the combat is as intresting as you make it, if you made even the slightest bit of headway you'd know that you learn increasingly interesting and useful moves as you progress, try using them once in a while, and those items you find, they're not purely for specific puzzles, maybe try improvising a bit instead of just lazily tapping your way through the game, there's so much more to TP then meets the eye.

The same reason halo 3 is. They are name sake games. They were both crap.

You think this game has long dialouge? Try playing Ocarina of Time.

Ocarina of time bored me to tears with the dialogue.

Most of the time you know exactly what they're going to say, yet you have to scroll through lines and lines of useless information.

I think it's a tad overrated. But this is coming from someone who thinks Wind Waker was epic (definitely one of the funnest games I've ever played, and I say that with conviction )....apparently I'm far off for thinking that based on everyone elses remarks. It sucked because Link was young throughtout? Okay...

Beats me.

We all have our opinions, though.

I appreciate TP more now that I'm progressing in the game. I mean, collecting Shadow Bugs was boring in the Kakariko section, but the Lake ones were fun to find and killing the big queen one was cool. And the game's not as ugly as I thought now that I've explored more areas. It's definitely alot more different than Wind Waker, which was completely vibrant with colors, and I loved the plot twist mid-through involving who Zelda was. And I really miss sailing that vast ocean!

So...it's all ones personal preferences. Game certainly doesn't suck, though.

You're not the only one

Three words- Cave of Ordeals. Every enemy you can imagine, in 50 levels of Hell. If that doesn't piss you off, nothing will. I've been less angry with Devil May Cry 3, which is pretty much famous because of its difficulty.

Ninja Gaiden is what you're looking for if you want something hard

There is but one word to describe why this game is so popular and lauded so much, and why it is better than the other Zelda games:

Midna.

reply

Actually not. I think it's the newer more realistic graphics.

reply

Heh, because you disliked it it doesn't deserve the praise of others?
