Silent Hill 4 'reference'

Okay, so we all know this is far from being a perfect movie. It's campy, cheesy fun and I accepted it for what it was, but WTF was up with that Silent Hill 4 "reference"? Nothing about it made any sense! Did the people who made this movie (or wrote the script for that matter) even do any RESEARCH before they started this?

For starter's, Silent Hill 4's final boss, *Walter* Sullivan, is a MAN. Not a woman. Hutch constantly kept saying "she" and "her" and I'm thinking "what the hell is he talking about?". And as if that wasn't bad enough, Hutch asks his boss if he has the hyperblaster. There is no hyperblaster in SH4... I think there's one in SH1, but not SH4. And the "dump the ammo" trick only works in 1 & 2. I know it's probably not such a big deal if you're not into the Silent Hill series, but seriously, they can't just make up their own bullsh!t and call it a "reference". I guess it just boils down to lazy writing (and writers).

On that note, who dumps a weapon with unlimited ammo? What kind of dumb@$$ strategy is that?

The game developers probably didn't want the end to the actual game spoiled in the movie so they had them change it up.

Also Walter Sullivan isnt the final boss, his mother is, he's just part of the boss.... So maybe you should replay through that game again? (: and don't tell me his mother isn't the boss, because the whole battle Sullivan is just present as a distraction so that you'll take more time.... And Eileen will die

His mother isn't the boss. The "distraction" Walter was [spoiler]his ghost[spoiler]. [spoiler]The monster was his corpse thus why it vanished[spoiler]

As a huge Silent Hill fan, that scene made my inner gamer go into a rage. I was like: "That is NOT how you beat the final boss in Silent Hill 4."

But they obviously didn't do the research, because, I'm not a history buff, but I know enough about Elizabeth Bathory to know that she didn't own a plantation in America, since she lived in Hungary during the 17th century.

I really disliked this movie as a whole so I decided to watch the commentary to hear what the hell they were thinking and they knew the code didn't work for four but didn't think anyone would notice.

I have to wonder if they had planned on using the true story of Madame LaLaurie but maybe couldn't (legal reasons, whatever) so they switched it to the Countess Bathory because their stories are similar.

Madame LaLaurie would have made much more sense with the location and everything.

THANK YOU! That 'reference' drive me nuts. I tried adding it to the 'goofs' section but it would never go through.
