Shouldn't IMDB have two different pages for movies like this?

It came to my attention that the main reason this movie is *beep* is because Disney cut most of the background story and a lot of disturbing stuff, like a guy spitting on the ground to get the PG13.
Only later a director's cut was released in which most of the scenes are like they were intended.
So generally with these kind of movies we end up with two versions:

The theatrical release:
Heavily edited so it can be sold to a demographic as large as possible, ignoring meanings, symbolisms, important plot points and artistic choices. This is where a lot of potential good movies are butchered.

The Director's cut:
The version how someone that spend a lot of time designing, creating, developing and editing it, intended it to be. Lots of nuances are back in place en the movie gets a richer and completer story. This is in most cases simply the better version.

But on IMDB for both versions is just one page. The rating is the average of both versions, the reviews are mixed up and most of the time people don't even know that there are two versions available. And how will movie compagnies ever learn how their ridiculous editing choices influence and ruin good movies? I think it would be very interesting to see these versions rated as two different products.

I honestly get where you're coming from. Some critics even rereviewed Stay Alive after seeing the Director's Cut and gave it a better rating. I own both the theatrical and director's cut on DVD and I always watch the director's version. It's absolutely 10x better than the theatrical. I wish more people knew about it.

Interesting. I’ve actually never seen the director’s cut and would be willing to check it out if it’s good.
