if Oogway didn't ask them to alert the guards that Tai Lung could return, then Zeng would've never gone to the prison and Tai Lung would've never got freed and Kung Fu Panda would've never happened!
shareRemember Oogway's warning to Shifu: One often meets his destiny on the road he takes to avoid it. I think Oogway understood that Tai Lung's escape was necessary if Po was ever going to become the true Dragon Warrior.

If Tai Lung hadn't sent the duck back to the kingdom nobody would have known he had escaped and he could have attacked the kingdom completely unopposed.
