Music? Chava Alberstein's CHAD GADYA

The voice dominating the soundtrack @ the beginning & end of FREE ZONE belongs to peacenik Chava Alberstein ("the Israeli Joan Baez"). The VARIETY guy is way off base in his review when he refers to her version of CHAD GADYA as "a traditional, rondo-like Passover song." When Alberstein released it in 1989 (in the middle of the 1st Intifada), it was considered so subversive that many Israeli radio stations banned it & right-wing politicians cursed her in the Knesset. This is exactly the kind of thing most Israelis will know as they're watching, but will anyone else...?

I found Chava Alberstein's song in Emule.

Because of the way the Hebrew word "Chet" (=Ch) is sometimes transliterated into the Latin alphabet, you might look for "Java" or "Hava" or some other phonetic combinations of her name.

Good luck. Hatzlacha Raba.

Thank you, so much, sjr5-1 for the Amazon link. I was able to buy an MP3 of "Ghad Gadya." I've been wanting it so badly for the last two years but haven't been able to find it. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
