Not impressed. The stage shows are a lot more agreeable and engaging. Here, the plot turns are cliched, treading very familiar waters. Cho is hysterical, but Daniels is a disaster.

Ouch.

I saw it and was really disappointed. I agree that Margaret as her mom was the best thing about the film. I also agree that Bruce Daniels was horrendous. I thought the direction was awful which is who I blame for Margaret's horrible acting. Worst part? It wasn't funny. Margaret's comedy is funny. Did someone rewrite the script or was it chopped up in the editing room? Disaster.

I worked on the movie, and though it was tons of fun to work with Margaret and the entire cast was amazing, i could tell the plot would not be anything special.

My opinion seems to be the same as most others. I was excited to find the movie and thought it looked like a great cast, but it was pretty horrible. Margaret as Mommy was the best part(s). The writing was bad, the acting was bad, Bruce's voice was incredibly annoying, and similar to Margaret's recent shows, it got all preachy at the end.
Boo!

i'm watching it right now, and i was so thinking that it was just like Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion, but it's so not like that. a nice attempt but not great.

This was so heavily influenced by Romy and Michelle that you probably recognize the evil Jackie as one of the mean girls from R&M (although it's worth noting that she might be the one that kind of does a turn around and says the girls look very fashionable).

I was so-so with this. I like Margaret/mom and Jane Lynch's character though.
