Was Viet the only one who won against an Iron Chef

It seems the winner is always an Iron Chef.

I do remember in the original japanese series, they would switch up winners, meaning sometimes the challenger would beat the Iron Chef.

Yeah it's a pity they are so obvious about it. I remember an episode where Batali had to cook with Coconut and chocolate and the judges were ripping through every dish saying it was good but they couldn't even taste the coconut or chocolate, and guess who won? I think the only guest I remember winning was Tsai in a Duck challenge.

I think the whole first season of Next Iron Chef was made up of challengers that had beaten an Iron Chef. The British guy that won Chopped (name escapes me at the moment) and had Freitag as his sous chef for battle kale also won. It has been a while and some recent decisions have been a bit suspect.

You don't want to go up against Micheal Symon.

I'm sure I've posted this before, but it's a nice reference to have:

Someone has done an impressive job of documenting every single episode, including challengers, judges, ingredients, curveballs, winners, and other fun facts.

All cooking competition shows should probably be blind judging for completely impartial results.

^You're right. I think it is so unfair.

Viet was one of only 2 in season 11 out of 17 competitors to win.
The other was Stephen Kalt who be Iron Chef Guarnaschelli and was awesome.
