Did Iron Chef America get cancelled?

I realized I hadn't seen any new episodes in awhile, so I checked epguise a to see what I'd missed. According to epguides.com, there hasn't been a new episode Since September 2014. Previously, there hasn't been any real breaks in the show... there's only been a month between seasons. So, did they kill the show?

I was coming here to ask the same thing.

The last series was nothing but "special" episodes. They haven't aired an actual challenger chef competition without some stupid gimmick theme since Season 11.

Season 12 was almost all "specials" featuring usually multiple Iron Chefs - only Flay vs Sosa in Luxury Foods was anything close to a normal episode.

On "Dazzling Dream Dinners" of The Chew (season 4, episode 159), which originally aired on May 11, 2015, Michael Symon said they no longer film ICA.

Sad. Maybe it needs a break, but will return.
We can hope.

I doubt it considering Mark Dacascos, the Chairman, has now moved on to other things.

He's played Wo Fat in the new Hawaii Five-0 TV series and he's recently been in Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as Mr. Giyera. He also has several films in pre or post-production.

reply

If they wanted to revive it and Dacascos' availability was an issue they really only need him for one episode to pass on the "family tradition" to someone else.
