Maybe I'm asking a stupid question but....

Nah its not a stupid question, when they first announced Bloodline Rebellion i was pretty confused too.

Bloodline Rebellion is just an update version of the original Tekken 6. It has two new characters, Alisa Boskonovitch, [the Daughter of Doctor Boskonovitch] and Lars Alexandersson which is a descendant of Heihachi.

Also it has a few new items and customizable gear which the original doesn't have.

Oh, and its only released for the arcade.
