Is this anti-christian?

I'm a christian and I would consider seeing this, but I heard that it upset a lot of christians. However, some christians have been known to get upset over nothing. So,does it make fun of christians? If it makes fun of christians that will show how little talent the guys have seeing as they have to insult a whole load of people just for there beliefs, but I'm not going to judge before I know the facts. So is i? Thanks

Not really.

Several major figures from the Bible appear in the second half, and are presented as fallible characters with very human flaws. But there is a lot to suggest these are "fever dreams" of Jerry himself, and not the actual deities, angels and people themself.

Many people also incorrectly conflate characters played by the same actors earlier in the opera. While there is som,e amusement to be had at the juxtaposition, this is an ensemble peice with a large cast of characters.

The overall message is rather Humanist, but doesn't really mock regular Christians. In fact the disclaimer in the second half suggests the opera is not suitable for anyone without a reasonable grasp of Judeo-Christian mythology :)

There was really no need for that last snarky comment.Thank you for the information,I'll maybe pick this up if I ever see it.

No snark was intended, so I'm sorry it came across like that.

Not sure what you are referring to though. The "Judeo-Christian mythology" was verbatim from the show. And the "regular Christians" was because I can't remember if the show takes a dig at extremeists and fundamentalists

reply

Ah,right,my bad,I apologise.I am just a 'regular Christian,as you put it,i'm not fundamentalist and most certainly not an extremist.Sorry again.
