HR Is Getting Better...DHOOM 2 Proved it.

NOW before I get jumped let me say that I am not an avid, #1 fan of Hrithik Roshan. However, I am an avid #1 fan of Bollywood flicks.

The other film I have seen featuring Hrithik Roshan is Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. I enjoyed KG very much BUT Hrithik Roshan was not the highlight of that film. In fact I remember thinking he was something of a weak link.

So when my copy of DHOOM2 arrived two weeks ago(I purchased it off of eBay)...
I was really just buying it to see how they were going to continue the franchise.

I was pleasantly surprised. In the end the better scenes seem to all fall in the lap of Hrithik Roshan. The opening scene on the train(he does not look to bad in drag) and of course his scene with Ash in Rio with the gun.

He's no Marlon Brando or Amitabh Bachchan, but he's definitely improved. Not as wooden...more genuine, and even I dare say a real sense of danger about him...a certain mystique that I did see in evidence 5 years ago in KG. Again this is not a commment on his entire film career just an observation of two different film roles.

In the end if I sit through DHOOM2 again it will be too see Hrithik Roshan's Mr. A....not Jai & Co.

Oh the joys of proofreading...what I meant to say in the first posting is
a certain mystique that I did not see in evidence 5 years ago in KKKG

Was not the stupid story, nor the crappy acting, nor the forgettable music. Ok, it was all those things.

They billed Hrithik Roshan as being a villain. So, I thought. Alright...this guy's gonna prove he can be other than a goody two shoes...turns out, he's not. And he's probably too scared to take a role that would cast him in a bad light. Which is a real shame, because I think he really does have a lot of potential and seriously needs to ...try acting a bit more.

He's got the looks but he needs to back that up with talent. And as far as I can see, it's the looks he's getting on by. But, he makes a hell of a lot more money than me...so...bah

Only time I have seen him act was in half a film - the second half of Lakshya. If he was acting in D 2 then he certainly fooled me - I thought he had wandered on to am MTV set. They all had! Every time the song went "sexy woman on the floor" a group of teenage boys in the audience would go "really? Where, where? darn I missed it!"... This a pathetic excuse of a movie. The lesson one can come away with is - if you plagiarize a good chunk of a story then you get flak for it. So just make sure your copying is limited to 30 second clips (films, music videos, cartoons) and then stitch them all together into the PERFECT film! No one will be able to tell you copied.

I sort of agree with you, he improved and he was ok in Dhoom 2

Well, it is no big surprise, when a dud like Abhishek can improve and give an acceptable performance ( I though AB was also ok in this movie) after such a long time, Hritik with good dancing skills and physique can improve and impress.
