HR Is Getting Better...DHOOM 2 Proved it.
NOW before I get jumped let me say that I am not an avid, #1 fan of Hrithik Roshan. However, I am an avid #1 fan of Bollywood flicks.
The other film I have seen featuring Hrithik Roshan is Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. I enjoyed KG very much BUT Hrithik Roshan was not the highlight of that film. In fact I remember thinking he was something of a weak link.
So when my copy of DHOOM2 arrived two weeks ago(I purchased it off of eBay)...
I was really just buying it to see how they were going to continue the franchise.
I was pleasantly surprised. In the end the better scenes seem to all fall in the lap of Hrithik Roshan. The opening scene on the train(he does not look to bad in drag) and of course his scene with Ash in Rio with the gun.
He's no Marlon Brando or Amitabh Bachchan, but he's definitely improved. Not as wooden...more genuine, and even I dare say a real sense of danger about him...a certain mystique that I did see in evidence 5 years ago in KG. Again this is not a commment on his entire film career just an observation of two different film roles.
In the end if I sit through DHOOM2 again it will be too see Hrithik Roshan's Mr. A....not Jai & Co.
