Should I watch this?

~*~Nina~*~

I really love soccer and believe that women can do anything men can but people are saying that there's more to the plot than that so I'm kind of ifie about it......please comment this.

Thanks

I was really excited about this movie because the story sounded good. I was disappointed with this, though. I thought they could have done a much better job with it.

After speaking to a lot of people, I've discovered the main reason were disappointed with the movie is because they were expecting a sports movie, not a "people" movie.

The story's about finally finding something to believe in, and believing in yourself. It has a lot of great soccer scenes, but the real story takes place off the field.

no, that's about it. In the beginning, you see Gracie hanging out with boys, smoking and acting somewhat wild, but it's an important part to the movie because it shows you how far she has to go in her life, both athletically and personally.

At first, Gracie isn't really heading anywhere in her life, but after she discovers something really important to her, she goes after it with everything she's got. People aren't perfect, and the movie's about real people in all their glorious imperfection.

What makes some people uncomfortable is parents having to explain to their kids what Gracie's doing in some of the scenes when she's on a date. It's nothing we haven't seen hundreds of times before on TV, but as you know, there are parents who either try to shield their kids from anything even remotely sexual or questionable, or parents who have no idea how to talk to their kids about subjects like sex or relationships (and not surprisingly, both of these types of parents are usually one and the same).

Not to get into a long discussion, but it's my opinion that the right time for parents to talk to their kids about sex and stuff like that is when they begin ask questions. Children are naturally curious and they also know when someone's lying or witholding something.

If parents knew how to give their children simple, basic answers, all properly phrased and within their understanding, it would prevent a lot of confusion in their early teen years when they start getting their information from friends rather than the people who should have taught them in the first place.

(sorry for the long post)

I really enjoyed it.

Don't watch it. I watched it with my mom and we were both waiting for it to end. The script was TERRIBLE and so was some of the acting. I didn't really care for the character of Gracie either. She was a real jerk sometimes.

I actually liked the way she acted, because I think it would make sense for a girl to be angry with her father for treating her like she couldn't play soccer, because she was a girl.
