C'MON!!!
Let's start some freaking discussions on here! How about the last three episodes? What did everyone (who wants to be here) think? C'Mon!
Simon: You're out of your mind.
Jubal Early: That's between me and my mind.
BOOSH!

The last episode was one of the best in my opinion, although the mood is much more serious and deep in meaning. The few episodes before the last one were not the same without the Punk though.
p.s. Nice quote too. (Does that seem right to you?)
FOX SUCKS!
"You fu(kers think just because a guy reads comics he can't start some sh!t?"
The last three episodes were gloomy and really weird..., i hope there is more to it later on.
The end really shown everyones true colors without all the comedy put into the picture, which was saddening because of the situation at hand, but it also made you feel gullible for not expecting it earlier, (like how everyone else in the series was baffled by it all).
on another note.
It is quite amazing how this anime is EXTREMLEY underlooked, did you all know that there is an actual section on the [Adult Swim] forum to suggest shows to put up on the line-up?, i think i have only seen one proposal towards Desert Punk being on there, and the post regarding it was WAY too vague to even give it any consideration, if someone either emailed Adult Swim with a very detailed proposal and/or Submitted a Good thread on their forum, This show would have a definite chance.
... the Dubbed version is way better than the Japanese version, not only because it is understandable to someone who doesn't know Japanese, but because the comedy was SO much more hilarious and they even threw in things that you would never be able to experience if you watched it with subs & japanese audio... like when Punk was dreaming about "Junk-Hoe"(lol) being a house wife:
Kanta: Junko?!, Espera - Que Paso Aqui!?!?
Junko: C'mon, Dinner time kids!
Husband: Don't tell me you squeezed out another one?
Junko: That makes #6!
Child: Daddy is going to have to work much harder now to feed all of us!
Husband: Don't you know it! *Chuckle*
Kanta: AGHHGGhh.. Eres Mui Retarde`!
Kanta:.... ¿Por qué hablo yo en español?
*Wakes Up*
Kanta: *Exhale*... ugh, what the hell?, why do i dream in spanish?
or using stupidly modern slang:
The Machine Gun Brothers: The Inumewa rock!?
Head of HMG: Yeah, but he's willing to shell out $500k per person, thats a ton of cash...
Fuyo: *slams on the table* BALLS NO!
(Pause)
Head of HMG:........uh... did you just say "Balls No"?
Fuyo: Damn right!...
Don't get me wrong - I still perfer Japanese Audio and Subs on many many Anime's, but this is one Anime that has instantly become epically hilarious after switching it to english, on the plus side of that being so, that also makes it a plausable candidate for being aired on telivision in english speaking countries/areas.
Overall this Anime is simply amazing and probabbly one of the most (if not THE most) funniest anime i've ever seen, and will stay an all time favorite for being so well put together.
The fourth to last episode is one of my favorites, because the Punk sort of gives off a vibe throughout the entire episode. The finale is also a favorite, because it shows Kosuna's "ascension", so to speak...it's really a great series, and I'm going to try and find the manga.
OT: Thanks, I have an ever expanding roster of sigs. And yes, Fox does suck for letting this show go. The WB (or NBC,preferably) should have picked it up...
"Where is Mr. Boots?"
I thought the first half of the series was amazing, I laughed my ass of time and time again, but the last half got too serious and stale, sacrificing the outrageous humor in favor of a pretty thin and uninteresting storyline. I wished they stayed true to the path =)
sharei geuss you're kinda right about it getting too serious, but alot of legendary animes do that; samurai champloo, cowboy bebop, trigun, hell.. even FLCL did, it is either a wacky anime-creators trend, or they all had a good idea :).
it DOES leave you wanting more, and unfortunatley, it can be sometimes...unsatisfying, making it depressing in some ways -_- unfufilling.
and regarding the 'uninteresting' comment - to each his own, and in some aspects you may be right, i thought if they either extended the series some more (the second half of the series seemed so crushed together), or - like you said - stayed true to the path - it might have been easier to swallow the ending of a great anime, but the end of that series was pretty 'stupid-funny' like the rest of the series.
more like a "wtf was that" moment. :)
don't get me wrong! it's not a bad ending.. it is just a 'wtf' ending lol.
Yes, WtF sums it up, the ending is great, it just doesn't fit the overall theme of the series. I mean he just decided to join the government cuz he got busted? Whatever, he could have done some rough stuff or stand for his stuff. It really got serious at the end, moreso than I was expecting, I give the series a 9 out of 10 only because the last disc is not what you would expect, but still great nonetheless.
sharelast episode was cool at the start. the conclusion was a real dissapointment though.
Ill take this off when somebody beats hornswoggles ass.
