Missed it by that much...

It's difficult to pinpoint exactly what was wrong with this movie, though it's easy to see what is right about it.

The story does not feel very original, and the execution leaves one with a sense of the contrived.

In the final analysis it simply misses the mark. Perhaps the directing could have brought it home better, or a different lead actor for Joe, not quite sure.

Or maybe it just didn't quite get the epic feel it was going for. A story that should have been heartwarming ends up missing the mark which is a shame, but it does work several times through the film, so it's not a complete loss.
