I think the connection is from it being held at Placid Pines campground. I'm just now watching this movie again after not seeing it for a year. What bothers me is that these idiots come to a campground and hire a cook just for the 5 or 6 of them. I know some of them are rich, but there is no way that someone would rent out an entire campground that can hold hundreds of kids to 5 20 somethings. Makes no sense. It would've been better if they had gone on a camping trip and got massacred. More believable that way.
