***Major Spoilers*** Plot holes?

Two events keep bugging me after watching this movie. Are they plot holes or did I just miss something? :)

1. When Michelle and Allie were outside about 20 mins. into the movie, they were startled by a noise and then they went back inside. Then the camera goes to where I suppose the sound came from, to the real cook being killed by Peter (in disguise). Did this happen then, or did it happen before they all got up there?

Because later on in the movie the sheriff tells Bobby they found somebody in the woods, cut into pieces (the cook according to the fax send to the sheriffs' place) before they all got up there. Bobby explains he couldn't have been the killer because he wasn't on parole till after the murder. But the cook got killed while they were all up there including Bobby, right? Must have been a blast to the past then, the cook getting killed.

2. When Zoe comes popping in out of nowhere (Left her bike at the Sheriff's place? Then goes walking through the woods at night to surprise her gf Sarah) she bumps into Peter, Michelle and Sarah. After she hands back Sarah her PDA she leaves again. She walks through the forest and get's killed by Peter. But uhh Peter is still with Michelle and Sarah right? Or did he leave her and Sarah in the middle of the night in the dark forest to get his suit, kill Zoe and then hurry back to show up with Michelle and Sarah when Jack and Bobby play out their little prank? He's fast! That had me wondering if there were two killers, since obviously Peter killed the cook.

Peter scaring Michelle at the beginning and then saying "I haven't heard screaming that loud since I LEFT my parents house" was very awkward, especially since we learned a bit earlier that Eric's parents and "brother" got killed in a fire set by igniting gasoline in Eric's room. Who would burn the house down, starting by Eric's room? The only explanation based on the little info we got, was that it would have to be a spouse, thus the brother who got neglected after Erics death and that he is/goes insane and kills his parents and then sets out to kill the people responsible for the death of his brother and oh, don't forget the cook, the German chick and the dyke.. lol... He was pissed off! ;-)

That unidentifiable guy getting killed must have been the cook, cuz he was the only who would never be missed, Peter took his place implicating him as the bad guy. After that it was just sitting through the movie watching everybody unimportant getting killed. Oh it started to get interesting again when Charlie goes all psycho on Sarah while he's messing around with the generator trying to uhhh, yeah I kinda didn't get that part. Good thing Peter had a snake to kill Charlie! lol..

Dissapointing plot!! :-(

Only explanation for number 1 I can give is that he killed Peter Bishop before everyone got up there, but killed the cook while everyone was up there.

And from what I understood regarding Zoe's bike, the sheriff found it and brought it to the police station before Bobby was caught.

reply

But Peter Bishop was the cook, right? If not, then that solves it :D

I honestly didn't really notice those...probably because I kept mixing characters up. Seriously, me and my friend were like "all these white people look alike"...and we're white.

ok... here;s another one for ya....explain it for me if u can....

bobby and adam are fighting, cut to michelle running, cut to bobby after he supposedly ran into the graveyard gate....cut to last few minitues of movie... michelle running from adam, and out of nowhere comes a completely uninjured, unbloody bobby....

.....ummm...yea...wtf...

i don't care how stupid or crazy ur killer is, or what materials (i.e. fake blood) youhave accsess to, how does one fake being impaled by a wought iron gate on their own while they are being chased by a psociopath?? let alone have time to cleanup and run back to the cabins to change into a clean pair of clothes that exacty matches what you were wearing before???

I don't actually think bobby was implaed by the gate, I think he was actually tied up over it, but i could be wrong

However, what I've never understood is. We all know low budget horror flicks arn't really that great. Yes you get a good one here and there but overall they're never sound, well made items

So why is it a huge shock that something that low budget isn't going to be that great. Yes the plot had holes but I don't watch gore movie for plot. Was this movie uber gory? No, its a cheesy slasher flim that you grab a tub of popcorn and watch. If you put this in your DVD player and expected to be knocked back on your rump over its fantastic plot, amazing character developtment and unbelivable editing...then you're stupid and I don't mean to sound rude but how anyone could have watched this movie thinking they were in for cinema greatness is beyond me

Was it great? No.

Did it pass the time for me? Yes, it did it's job.

I understood going into watching this movie that it wouldn't have the most amazing plot.

But still, is it so much to ask to have it where it's actually plausible? Yes some scary movies involve paranormal activity that could never happen in real life but this is a movie about some crazy human on a killing spree. He doesn't have supernatural powers he's just a regular human being (well, an insane psychopath human). It needs to be somewhat realistic.

I don't mind plot holes but this isn't a plot hole, its like a *beep* blackhole. I dont care how low budget a movie is, if you bother making one, at least bother to have it make SOME sense.

You must not be a fan of many slasher films if you need things to be realistic, how many times as Mike died at the end of a film? Or Jason? Yes they're 'evil' but they still are human, half the killers out there are just human crazys, but that's besides the point. Nothing about this movie says "I'm going to be good or even average"

You can tell ten seconds into this movie its going to be horrid, full of holes, and not going to make much sense, that's why I'll again state if you put this and expected ANY of that, You're watching the wrong type of movies

This movie appeals to one group of people, those wanting to pass their time with a cheesy slasher. It does it's job, If you're really going to sit their and over analayze it, you should try reading reviews on horror movies before you watch them it will save you alot of trouble. A review on Bloody Disgusting hit this movie perfectly

"Nothing mind altering revelations here, no need to write home to mom, or call all of your friends, simply a guilty pleasure that hits like a sugar rush and leaves you feeling pretty damn fine for the better part of an hour."

I understand that it was supposed to be some cheesy slasher flick. The problem with comparing it to movies like Friday the 13th and Halloween is that those guys are obviously not human. No matter what happens, they still somehow come out alive in the end. I'm not asking for some spectacular plot that completely blows me away. Something that was a tad realistic would of been nice since it was apparent that this guy didn't have supernatural powers and was just some psycho. It was a good setup, but there was just too many plotholes that kind of ruined it for me. I love slasher films like Scream and whatnot. They're my guilty pleasures. But this was just kind of loosely put together so I was a bit dissapointed.

I don't think I was too ridiculous in my expectations. Hahaha, I knew the movie seemed like a straight-to-video one. I didn't even complain about the acting ahahah so I knew what I was getting into. Oh well, definitely not one of the worst. Don't even get me started on Zombie Nation.

I am surprised No one stated this:

FIVE Years later, the fence at the grave yard was still broken even after a death on the property!

At least they would been cut off just making a hole, if not new bars welded in place.

I thought that was wild...

Low budget doesn't excuse a shoddy script.

Not only was he not bloody, but there wasnt even a hole in his shirt where hed clearly been impaled the scene before.

reply

Don't you think somebody would have fixed the gate after five years?

The other one I noticed is that when everyone meets at the boat house the first night Peter is there cooking. Yet that is when Veronica gets killed in the showers. How could he be down with all of the others when he is waiting for like 15 minute for Veronica to get out of the shower and kill her?

I also agree that the end was horrible. You see Bobby get impaled on the gate and blood is coming out of his mouth (a lot of blood). Yet when he rescues Michelle he is fine, no blood, no marks.

This movie was a horrible, predictable waste of time.

reply

Actually, Bobby is NOT impaled on the fence, nor are his clothes bloody (check it). His face and mouth are bloody from fighting with Peter. That aside, I agree with the other plot holes mentioned. As stated before, Peter could not be in two places at once and my guess is that maybe while they were filming, they hadn't decided who would be the killer yet. Otherwise, it's hard to believe they were so sloppy with this film...

reply

I shall call this movie "Rotten Swiss Cheese" because a) of all of the plotholes and glaring inconsistencies in the movie, b) the movie sucked, and c) was really cheesy.

Here are some of my favorite plotholes:
1) The real Peter could not have been killed while the friends were there. Jack said early after their arrival at the camp that some man had been murdered and could not be identified a couple days before. That scene of Peter's murder was way out of place.

2) When the sheriff arrested Bobby he said something to the effect of "Is this how you want to start your parole?" Bobby said nothing about just getting out on parole. All the sheriff knew was that Bobby was on parole.

3) This goes with 1) and that's just the timing of the murders. There's no way Adam could have gotten from A to B that quickly. Unless, there's another killer, which unfortunately leaves room for a sequel.
