Original songs which inspired this musical

hi,

does anyone know which songs they used/rewrote to make the songs in this musical?

thanks

I think it's all original music, composed by the multitalented Matt Berry.

But the "Maybe my star is fading..." song does sound like that Glenn Madeiros horror "Nothing's Gonna Change My Love For You".

Actually, me and my housemate were sitting watching this the other day and picking out all the songs that were used as a base. Alice Coopers "Poison" was used for the song that the Innkeeper and Joseph sing, one of the songs from War of the Worlds (not sure which, one with the Artilleryman I think), was used for "Get Out", at least the bass line was identical, listen to it from the line "Listen man, you and me are through...". And weirdly, Spike's song from the Buffy episode "Once More With Feeling" is used for the innkeepers song, even down to the arms crossed action he does. We recognised the bass line to the final song, but can't place it.

The songs are all deliberately very similar to ones in Jesus Christ Superstar. The innkeeper negotiation song is a lot like "this jesus must die".

Two years later?

I think Joseph's Travellin' Down From Galilee song sounds exactly like the Creedence Clearwater Revival version of Proud Mary.

Parts of the "Maybe my star is fading" song remind me of Christopher Cross' "Moon and New York City"s song.
