Colt bought with Junior's money so how could Danie take it?

This didnot make sense to me. Didn't Junior have money from the 47% of the farm that he sold? I would imagine that he bought the colt with his own money. Danie should not have been able to take the colt away from Kris for that reason. That doesn't make sense. I think that is a plot hole.
Could someone explain this to me if I am misunderstanding something...

Flame still belonged with Davis farms. Dani didn't take Flame for herself personally- sure, she did partly because of Tim Sullivan deciding to board his horses at RainTree and she was pissed about that- but she took Flame to live at Davis Farms.
