I was forced to watch this piece of s***....

When I auditioned for Mars Callahan's latest film, "Spring Break '83" in Moorpark, CA, they basically had a preview screening of this movie...

Well, it wasn't a preview screening: the film had been out since March, and this was late April. The thing was the film was so badly panned by critics and film goers, the production company was desperate to get people to go and see it.

I auditioned for the film and then I had to buy a ticket to see it in order to fill the audition sheet completely out. Can you believe that? I had to watch a seriously S***ty film, just to audition for another s***ty film.

Well, as predicted, the movie was terrible. I never laughed once throughout the entire film, and then the producer came up to me and asked "So, what did you think?" Naturally, I lied and said it was funny....I wanted an the gig.

I didn't get it. No, I'm not bitter and upset over losing the audition, but I'm more hurt over the fact that I had to PAY to see a bad movie. In my mind, images of that scene from "A Clockwork Orange" where Alex is forced to watch violent footage while listening Bethoveen remind me of what I had to go through.

How the hell does Mars get the money to make his awful films? Somebody's gotta be seeing his films...present company excluded.

I was wondering how they pump up the ticket sales. I went to see the film in Berkeley at an Arts Film movie theater. There were two other people in the theater. none of us laughed at all. It just was not funny. I thought I would never take my wife to this trash. Unfortunately I am an investor in this film.
