Confusion *spoiler*

Does anyone understand the ending? It's messing with my head. Did Dani actually die or were the characters somehow switched - Dani and Albert? What was the significance of the ending?

I definitely think Dani died but am not sure how. Having watched the wash with the perfect girl, Dani felt that his life was complete. And Christina got closure by being able to say goodbye to Dani, the stand-in for her brother.

I liked that the movie treats serious subject matter (eros and thanatos) with a light touch. It's sad but not depressing. And Dani's right--we do need to talk more about death!

The ending really surprised the heck out of me but yeah apparently Dani killed himself. A serious WTF moment, I did not see that coming.

Dani took his life at the end which was surprising and quite sad. He certainly feel he had reached the perfect pinnacle of happiness. It was sad though to see the pain of those he left behind, his mother, Cristina, his two best friends and even the real Albert Castillo. When someone takes their life it is indeed a selfish act with many left to reconcile, grieve and ask the question that is often left unanswered "why?". Highlight: his letter to Cristina.
