Compared to Emperor (2012)

I saw Emperor before I saw this film ... and I liked it much better. Both films seem to cover the gist of the surrender and the question of what to do with the Emperor well ... which is good this is important history.

But this film really bogged down so many times ... especially in the first half hour (that meeting and the dressing of emperor was deadly). And there were so many WTF and creepy moments in the film (like the Emperors fish mouth or his playing with the crab or MacArthur acting like a total bastard). The pacing was way to darkand moody for me.
