The truth of the matter is this. SRK has an almight Aamir-complex. Let's not pretend that he doesn't sit there avidly keeping tabs on what this other khan does. And that he's not sitting there now, petrified about his status in Bollywood, what with Aamir doing so fantastically well this year. Let's review:
1. Aamir does Lagaan. A movie that was offered to SRK if I'm not mistaken but he turned it down. And why? Becuase he's got an ego does SRK and making that kind of film at that time with a virtually unknown directors was not for him. Oh\ no, SRK prefers the soft cushion of mega house producers and sure fire production houses and directors. And lo and behold, Lagaan was an awesome film, a massive success and nominated for an Oscar to boot. Ranking right up there with Mother India in that respect. Aamir got to go to the Oscars and SRK got to feel like a fool, doing yet another role playing son to Amitabh's father and meekly running around like a college boy instead of spreading his wings and GROWING UP as an actor.
- So SRK decides to do an Aamir. See Swades everyone. Funny that suddenly SRk wanted to do "something different" and funny that it's with the same director as Aamir's Lagaan.
2. SRK and Kajol. This was always SRK safety net, the fact that he and Kajol were condsidered to be a legendary pair because they've never given a flop movie together. Even though their chemistry was light, sweet and nothing more, millions of people swore by the SRK-Kajol combination. Enter Aamir, once again wrecking everything for SRK. Because the Aamir-Kajol pairing quite simply blew SRK-Kajol out of the water. Every look, every touch, every word they exchanged was heavy with undercurrents of passion, angst and intense feeling. DDLJ as great as it was suddenly looked like a high school romance, compared to the depth of feeling and emotion of two mature adults in Fanaa. SRK can no longer claim to have sole ownership of legendary chemistry. Aamir and Kajol rocked the house and the movie and the funny thing is, it all seemed so effortless. It was super natural and super convincing and far more enticing than ANYTHING SRk and Kajol have ever shared on screen.
3. Lagaan, Rang De Basanti and now Fanaa. Each and every one of them as different from the other as the sun is to the moon. And each and every one of them a super blockbuster. Not to mention Raja Hindustani, Rangeela, Ishq, and every other hit Aamir's had. The difference is not that SRK hasn't had more hits, he probably has. The difference is that all these movies were different from each other. Aamir has grown by leaps and bounds as an actor, he dares to be different, he dares to do what he feels passionate about and bears the criticism for that with no qualms whatsoever. Aamir can stand the heat, SRK can't even be in the kitchen for the heat.
To sum up, all this rubbish about SRK being the king khan is just that. Rubbish. He's never moved me, never convinced me, he's done nothing but make me roll my eyes at his over emotive- acting and childish roles. The last time SRK impressed me was back in the Darr days. Long, LONG AGO. Aamir is more than a better actor, he's a better STAR in my eyes.
No question in my mind who the king khan is. And it definitely isn't SRK.

Ok, I’ll admit it. Part of the reason I’m thoroughly enjoying Aamir’s success this year and needling SRK fans is because of the ungracious, unnecessarily catty way their hero (and his cohorts) have acted towards Aamir in the recent past.
Anyone who’s watched an episode of Koffee with Karan can tell you that Mr Johar made it a point to compare SRK with Aamir in almost every episode, by asking other stars to pick who was better. Now we all know Karan Johar is SRK’s devoted slave and it seems obvious to me that the servant was trying to please the master here. But why? Why is it so important for them to hear that other people think SRK is better than Aamir? When a few stars like Zayed, Shahid or John Abraham picked Aamir over SRK, Mr Johar was not best pleased and continued to question them in a vein that would inevitably produce a pro-SRK answer. Again I say, these two guys are terribly close like they ALWAYS tell us. It seems clear to me that this topic of conversation has arisen more than once between them, so much so that Johar makes it a point to ask the question. Why not ask people to choose between SRK and Salman for instance?
And who could forget SRK’s catty remarks about Aamir, when answering the question posed by Karan Johar about what he would say to Aamir’s fans. Are we starting to get a picture? That team is consumed by comparisons and desperate to prove SRk is better than Aamir or anyone else for that matter. All this when Aamir had had only one movie in four years and SRK had done a Chalte Chalte, Devdas and Main Hoona Na in the intervening years. And why? Because they’re insecure that’s why and KNOW deep down that other people. i.e Aamir are better.
Prior to this, I didn’t really care about any competition between the two Khans. I liked Aamir’s work and was cooling on SRK anyway. But there seemed to be such an agenda against Aamir on Koffee with Karan (which in my eyes implicated SRK because who benefits?) that I’ve decided to firmly set up camp on Aamir’s side. He’s doing better work anyway.
Wonder how Karan Johar feels about Aamir delivering a Rang de Basanti and Fanaa in one year just mere months apart? Especially when KANK is failing to do the business? And in the fickle world of Bollywood, I’ll bet half the people who chose SRK over Aamir will change their tune now that Aamir is flush with success and SRK on the basis of KANK is looking tired and churning out lackluster performances.
And I wonder how SRK feels about Aamir’s success this year. Especially if Don doesn’t do so well. And especially since his favourite heroine Kajol, has delivered a blockbuster in a movie without him and starring his arch-nemesis of all people while having terrific chemistry with him also.
HA! I’m so enjoying this. Malicious people like Karan Johar and SRK by implication need to remember that tomorrow is always another day, not only in Bollywood but in life. Aamir doesn’t need some sidekick to pull other people down so he can look good. One has to question why SRK feels the need to indulge in such tactics. Ego? Insecurity? Just plain vindictivness? Who knows? Whatever the reason, it’s soured me on both SRK and Karan Johar for good. They, like Aamir, should let their work speak for themselves and quit with this trumpeting from the rooftops about how great they are.

everyone knows the chemistry between kajol and aamir was completely undeniable. I did not sense much at all in K3G or KKHH. also, even in Ishq i thought that aamir and kajol made a better couple than that ajay and kajol. in all the KJ movies Kajol is portrayed as some comedic loud, controlling girl, and in the srk-kajol relationship she is seen as the one who sort of wears the pants, wherea in fanaa the aamir-kajol relationship is portrayed as equals and their personalites balance each others.
