some guys here live in a dreamworld, arent they?

i read something about "too much in one movie" and that every stage should have there own live action movie. lol

this movie alone costs enough, you cant just make 4 movies with the same actors and the same people in it without considering the time consume.

would the movie just focused on first stage it would be boring as hell, i mean i saw the anime and i know whats happening so WHY ARENT U GUYS HAPPY THAT THEY PUT FRESH THINGS IN THIS OLD STORY!? WHY ARE U ALL SO STUCKED IN UR "PERFECT" INITIAL D WORLD?

heck, learn to have fun with movies! they dont change the story of initial d in any aspect! the 5th stage will still have the akina speedstars in full cast and that *beep* rx7 in it that evryone missed SOOOOOO much, realize it people: reisuke sucked in stage 1-3!

and just for the records: the anime doesnt always follow the manga so why should the live action follow the anime?

One movie would've been enough but they needed to spend waaaay more time introducing people and teams, as well as make the races longer and show the racers' thoughts, like the anime did. This could've been so much better and I think the main problem is that they tried to include too much material.

It doesnt matter if they did or did not put too much in the movie. First of all the acting was terrible and there was extraneous stuff put in that in no way benefited the story. Why is it important for the live action version of Bunta to be an abusive drunk dead beat dad who likes to be sleezy and beat his son? We have extra scenes with him flirting with girls and lashing Takumi and us looking at Takumi's back scars. Does that add anything to the story? No. Could we have saved all that time to put in something else like develop the other aspects of the film better? Yes. This movie is full with BS like that. Wasting time on weird things that were never part of the source material and just leave people unfamiliar with the anime going "wtf was that about?" Like really I would rather feel bad for Takumi being beaten like a dog into a race driver if I didn't know from the anime that he actually enjoys racing.
