M2 Carbine

In addition to my other post....

I just love the fact that in the cemetary scene one of the G.I.s has an M2 Carbine. A gun which didn't come into production until early 1945. So in other words, the fighting takes place in France, a country that was already liberated and free of nazis by 1945.

So did anyone bother to crack a history book before taking a piss on WWII veterans?

I had an M1 Carbine is that scene, not sure who had an M2.
The M1 I had was actually used in world War 11.

So, I'm innocent! ha ha

The M2 is the one with the Banana clip in the cemetary scene

No, I think your wrong. I watched the scene again, and I think your talking about my gun actually. It was an M1 carbine, NOT an M2.

In what history book did you actually find the werewolves and zombies?

You guys are right, I spotted the M2. It is in the cemetery scene, as specified. I read this board yesterday and had completely forgotten about it until I saw the weapon. The man using it is prone behind a gravestone when all of his buddies are getting up, probably laying down some cover. Note the long mag, that is the giveaway.

Cheers mate!

I always crack a history book before I piss on anyone.

Its an M1. the clip is what doesn't belong. Both Shawn and I had M1's. The guns were identical. The clips were different.

In all honesty, I don't think someone who's that into the weaponry or costumes can enjoy this movie, or most others. We made a low budget, "B" Movie that has a specific focus in its genre. It's not meant to be a masterpiece or perfect, but it fits into the Grindhouse style perfectly.

Other then the larger capacity magazine the M1 and M2 looked the same externally, the M2 came out in early 1945 as a M1 variant with full automatic fire. The magazine are probably interchangeable and they might have had a larger capacity magazine for the M1 as it was being used in a combat role when it was originally designed as a back up weapon
