This movie looks interesting. Let me guess worst movie ever made?

I always like to swing by IMDb and see info about a certain indie film. Why is it that everytime I read a review on an imdb message board I see some jack ass saying whatever indie film they saw is "the worst movie they have ever seen" or compare the film makers to Ed Wood?

This is a film I have heard about for a long time. Someone sent me a news paper clipping from my hometown of Youngstown, Ohio and later on down the road I met one of the DPs. I am for one going to check it out.

I think that everyone feels very empowered by anonymity and the safety of the Internet. They can say whatever they want, no matter how rude (true or not) and there is no consequence. In person, more of these people are frail, empty shells of people that probably can't even approach a girl to say hello - but on IMDB - they are revered for their witty comments and evil perspectives on how bad movies are.

that, and maybe they genuinely feel these indie movies are "the worst movie they have ever seen" and the filmmakers are more akin to Ed Wood than Scorsese.

It's really a mixed bag, but for me as a filmmaker - I don't mind people lowering expectations because then the movie will be "better" than these reviews - either way I win.

It's actually quite comical. These people aren't used to the Director of the movie actually coming on here and posting replies to their comments. It's so funny because as soon as Sonnyboo replies to them, they seem to get scared and backpedal.

They seem to say to themselves, "Wait a minute, I was just bashing a movie like I always do, within the safety of the internet, and now the actual Director of the movie is talking to me, of crap, I better kiss his a##."
It's hilarious.

And the whole thing about "worst movie I've ever seen" ? Yea, they wrote that about "Sideways" too, and "Sideways" was the most brilliant, funny film I've seen in years. It should have won Oscar for best picture. And sure enough, go to the IMDB message boards, and you will see "This is the worst movie I've ever seen".
Too funny

What's even funnier are the people who make up accounts just to bash on this one movie. That's not even a little suspicious!

That's IMDb for you.

They have new rules in place to prevent people from just creating new accounts randomly.
