fun fact for fans

hi everybody,

my name is brett fleisher, i played paul parker in this film several years back and have come across these postings for the first time... It amazes me that all of you who have posted messages about this movie in some way or another have been affected by this film, and continue to think about it, write about it, or watch it and pass it on... thats quite exciting for an actor.

well my subject heading indicated "fun fact" and i do have one indeed...

there is a scene in the movie, which might have been deleted (its been a long time) where i wake up with my brother in the basement to find a man standing over our beds. At first glance he is an ordinary stranger (if such a thing exists) but then he turns to reveal... half of his face is missing, or rather, half of his face is a bloody mess. Now the fun fact is that the actor that made his debut in this role is Scott Travis, the drummer for Judas Priest. I sure hope it is in the film somewhere, the makeup was shockingly realistic, and to his credit Mr. Travis did an excellent job scaring the _____ out of me (but who knows if that was the makeup)

interesting? i hope so...

well, keep watching, writing, and thinking and let me know if this will air anytime soon, id love to see it again... thanks for your time and intrigue

-Paul Parker

Very interesting information Brett. The film truly gave me nightmares and continues too. Believe it or not I have a nightmare atleast once a month or so about this story, except for me in bed with a strange figure standing over the bed. Not as strange looking as Robert, but strange nonetheless. In the winter where I live it snows often so it really reminds me of this film every winter. I hope this film comes out onto DVD sometime so I can purchase it and scare my friends. You know in all actuality this type of occurence involving entities is a very true and possible thing. We'll thanks again, and oh by the way how old are you now? Happy Halloween!

Brett -

Not to sound rude, but did you guys know that the story was essentially made up (or at the very very least substantially embellished) while you were filming it?

Hey is that really you Brett? Obviously you must know that you have your own page on IMDB, its really rare for a person to be on this website AND post on its msg boards as a user....so its really cool if you're the actual guy who played Paul Parker! You're acting was really very good.
The documentary aired today on Discovery again, its totally awesome and unlike most shows made on supernatural stuff this one really spooked the hell out of me, it just somehow seems very real. By the way do you have any idea why the real Paul Parker was not available for the documentary? His account of the whole incident would've really been interesting. Sorry this is kind of a random question, I just thought you might know.

he didnt want to talk about it ever again

My name is Chip Coffey and I am a personal friend of Carmen Reed, the matriarch of the family who lived in the demonically infested former funeral home. John Zaffis, nephew of Ed Warren (of Amityville Horror fame), and a principal investigator during the haunting, is also a friend of mine.

The REAL name of the family who lived in the house is Snedeker. The character of "Karen Parker" was based on Carmen Reed (formerly Snedeker).

The documentary, "A Haunting in Connecticut," is a fairly accurate depiction of the true events that happened during the haunting. Some details were left out, but for the most part, the documentary remains true to the story.

Carmen, John and I are currently writing a new book (working title: "Demons from the Dark") that will finally tell the TRUE AND COMPLETE story of what happened during the haunting. The book will hopefully be completed and published during 2007.

A feature film about the haunting is also being produced. Hopefully, it will remain fairly true to the story. The film is slated to be released during 2007.

I can assure you that what you have seen in the documentary actually happened ... and there is even MORE that has NEVER been told!

Mr. Coffey ~

First - thank you so much for all you have shared regarding this haunting. It definitely intrigues me as I encountered paranormal activity in my life that wasn't so friendly either.

Second - what happened to the book you were writing with Carmen and John called, "Demons From The Dark"? I looked for it online and cannot find it. Did you three ever finish it?

Third - unfortunately, the Hollywood movie strayed drastically from the real story which upset me quite a bit. Too bad - it would have been scary had they stuck to the story!

And Fourth - I see many people calling you a fraud. Screw them! You seem like a gem of a person and far from a fraud. Keep up the great work - you help many people.

The interiors for the documentary were filmed on sound stages at New Dominion Pictures in Virginia. The TV sets look nothing like the REAL interior of the house.

The family who endured the haunting lived ONLY on the first floor (and the basement)of the house. The REAL house is subdivided into a two family dwelling -- one "apartment" on the first floor, another on the second.

Exterior shots were filmed in Connecticut ... and the exterior shots of the house that are shown during the documentary are images of the REAL house in Southington, CT.

FYI: during the documentary, there is snow everywhere, which wasn't always the case during the actual haunting! The REAL haunting lasted for 2+ years.
