REPORT: Ray Fisher's Cyborg No Longer in The Flash

Despite longstanding rumors that Ray Fisher's Cyborg would play a role in the upcoming movie The Flash, a new report indicates that neither Fisher nor his DC Extended Universe (DCEU) character will be appearing in the project.

"The rumors of Cyborg recasting are a lie, Cyborg is not in The Flash and the role is not being recast. I've confirmed this with the studio. The rumor is FALSE," wrote Mark Hughes on Twitter.

This comes on the heels of Fisher announcing on Twitter his refusal to work on Warner Bros. projects that are associated with DC Films President Walter Hamada and the actor disputing a claim that he wanted double his negotiated price to appear as Cyborg in The Flash. It is unknown if Cyborg's absence from The Flash is due to these events or is an entirely separate matter.

The participation of Fisher's Cyborg in The Flash dates back to 2016 when Rick Famuyiwa was attached to direct the project. Even after Famuyiwa left the production, rumors of Fisher's Cyborg appearing in some capacity in The Flash persisted as late as this past autumn, when reports emerged of Fisher being in negotiations to return as Cyborg in the film.

Fisher has appeared as Cyborg in the DCEU films Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League. He will next reprise the role of Cyborg in Zack Snyder's director's cut of Justice League.

Directed by Andy Muschietti from a script by Christina Hodson, The Flash stars Ezra Miller, Michael Keaton, Ben Affleck and Billy Crudup. The film arrives in theaters Nov. 4, 2022.

It's too bad Fisher torpedoed his own career. I didn't think he was that bad in the Whedon cut.
