This movie bears absolutely no resemblance to reality - and yes, I've seen the underbelly of LA and a lot of other very tough cities. If this really is representative of current-day LA, we should just drop a nuke on the place and get it over with.

I agree with register888.. It was entertaining for me and that's the point of any movie. If any of you don't find it entertaining then go find another movie genre because it looks like u don't like crime movies.
Where should I begin..... It's not the violence the kids watch that kills people, it is the way they are raised and ignorance. Violence has been glorified since the beginning of time, if you can't handle watching such films don't pay/support the movie by watching or commenting on the film. Entertainment is in the eye of the beholder just as is art... oh yeah this is a fiction, if thats exploiting to you.. well your wrong.
by the way rams , jesus christ was murdered should we not have films depictig that ? does that promote violence ? I understand your pain , but by exposing the underbelly of society , it makes it me understand the struggles those who were not born to the life priviledge .
More shocked was I that Gates McFadden's cameo (Beverly Crusher from Star Trek TNG) got absolutely no mention in the Director's commentary, as if the rest of the movie was worth any mention.
Don't watch, buy, borrow, rent, or steal this movie. It's not worth it.
Shut the hell up you whinny children. The only way you can say a movie sucked is if you watched the whole thing. If you watched the whole thing, that means it kept you entertained for the duration of the film, which in turn is what film makers strive for when making films. If you didn't like it, don't come on a message board and bitch about it. By all means, have your opinion, but an educated response with that opinion wouldn't hurt. Lastly, don't group killing, violence, and any other inhumane acts with the entertainment companies. They have nothing to do with it. Maybe you should blame the parents, that let 12 year old kids watch rated-R movies or by them mature video games. Stop looking for any pointless excuses for why this movie sucks.

Wow. So by your glorious logic, no one can ever say that any movie sucked. Also, who's whinny? I thought that was the noise a horse made.

my mom let me watch good movies at 12 and i aint killd no one(yet) this movie wasnt very good clifton "I Can Take My Own Turn" collins makes it worth it
I was also shocked at how bad the writing for this film was. Although, the way the flow of the movie was great. I think that what made the writing come across so bad!!!
The acting was great. I really enjoy the ideas about the cops being haunted by the ghosts and such. But the writing, especially the Lt. and captina (david keith) and the way they behaved. It was almost an insult. I can understand having to make a movie for the main stream, etc., etc., but to have such a mickey mouse story with such great acting and fantastic flow. It was just too bad!
Clifton Collins is great in this and any other movie he's in, very underated IMO. for those of you who said this movie sucked.really now, what the hell did you expect.
Man this had to be one of the *beep* corrupt cop movies ever I couldnt even watch the whole thing. Cuba can act but this was some *beep* I didnt buy the "tough guy cop" act for nothing, I think he must've went to New Orleans before he did this role because the whole "Ya Heard Me" saying is something I only hear down here in Louisiana and it just didnt sound right the way he was forcing it out. Its more like one word "Yeardme". Anyways back to the point that *beep* Suck it just wasnt believable.
