What a pity

I was asked to attend a test screening of Crazy Monkey.
All I can say is...What A Pity!!!!

These guys have a huge following with the pop culture of today. Of course we were expecting the same sort of ludicrous rip off humour as they did with jack-ass. Now, I'm not expecting them to make a movie doing rip off stunts from jack ass but I think they could've done a LOT better than a "Kevin and Perry Go Large" rip off.

Granted, it is ALWAYS fun to take the p*ss out of S.A.s most voted hunk, Colin Moss, whenever we can but the scripting was BAD!!!

Trevor, Brendan and Gavin - guys you could do SOOOO much better with the script. Though the narration was funny in parts, it clearly shows a weakness in a movie when it is overdone. And believe me it was absolutely chargrilled to coal. Maybe the producers should've sourced for a writer here to guide them along.

But lets count this one as a learning curve...

Together since the world began - the lover and the madman!

I know some guys involved with editing and post producing this movie, and was also at the screening you attended. It was only a test screening. That was not the final film at all.

The test screening was held to see what worked for the audience and what didn't. The film's already been changed according to feedback.
This is something that filmmakers even did back in the days of the Marx Brothers. It's not an easy thing to put an unfinished film out there, but to get the best film possible, it's a necessary thing.

Many people think it will be a Jackass-sketch style film, and are surprised to see that it's a proper story. The way I see it is that it's Crazy Monkey's take on the underdog story.

You should check it out again when it's released to see how much it's changed since you saw it and provided feedback.

I'm really looking forward to the final product...

I've seen the latest version of the film, at a test screening this Saturday.

It was totally streamlined and cool. And funny. And they haven't even finished working on it yet...

Proper SA humour. Top job.
