Who's stayed @ Highland Gardens?

Who else has stayed there?

I stayed there back in 2001 and it was the exactly what this documentary says it is! You meet so many great people there! This is indeed a hidden treasure in Hollywood.

I just recently stayed there in May. It's a block away from Hollywood Blvd, Kodak, Hollywood-Highland, stars homes. We did hear some weird noises at night, but that could have all been all in our minds... or Janis :) All in all it was a great little location. I have to check out the movie now.

Am I the only one who found the the whole thing poignant rather than frat-party cool? There is something so achingly hopeful about so many of the people who stayed there. Hollywood is a really hard place to crack, like New York, or any other insular place. I found it painful to watch some of the people in the film, like the girl who impersonated Marilyn Monroe (I'm sorry to say I don't remember her name). She seemed so winsome and hopeful but clueless at the same time.

Stayed there a couple of times, I love it. Just saw a doco about John Holmes and they interviewed his brother who looked like he was living there. Pretty much Sums up the calibre of "celebrity" that stays there now and makes it such a great place.
