Whats her name?, which character in the movie is she based on?.

Actually, based on your grandmother, but also my Poppop's best friend Dave Kramer (who is featured in a cameo role in the film). He's credited as a writer on the film, and also his wife is honored at the start of the closing credits. Your grandmother was a great comfort to Dave - thanks.

I'm not sure if you are serious or kidding. I'm sure that most of the characters are "based on" real people of Palm Beach County and elsewhere.

BTW, 2 other films that I loved and this brought to mind are "In her Shoes" and "Cocoon".

Sorry I didn't reply sooner.

It's actually true. My Grandma Marilyn lost her husband( Sam ) but not from being hit by a car, and met Jack who lost his wife at a bereavement place and later got married. Jack was very dependent on his wife as shown in the movie which is true. They never showed Jack and Marilyn in the movie getting married though. The real Jack and Marilyn were in the movie but didn't have any lines and were shown for only a few seconds in some scenes. The new years dance was something that my Grandma said she went to and the director said that she thought it would be good to put into the movie as well. I'm not sure who the people Marilyn and jack meet in the movie, but I think thats the part of the real story that that ends. Sam was a great husband and a great father and great grandfather, even though he passed away when I was a little boy so I can only remember few things.

It's a lovely, humorous paean to love and friendship. Enjoyed it greatly! These folks have still got their acting chops and would love to see them working regularly again.
