One of the rare younger kid shows I can tolerate

I like the older kid shows - SpongeBob, Avatar the Last Airbender, Drake and Josh, and all the 90's stuff Nick doesn't show anymore - but The Backyardigans is one of the smaller kid shows I can tolerate. I really like it and so does my son (though right now he seems mainly interested in the theme song). A lot of people on here have said they don't like the music because it sounds too dark and depressing, and there certainly is a darker tone to some of them, but I think that's what I like about them. They aren't all just these upbeat cheesy songs. They're all different and some sound happy and upbeat and others sound calmer and more nervous (like the song in the new Robot episode). Also the Volcano Sisters "We Know What We Want" starts out a bit demanding but then it sort of picks up. Mystery Lifeguard is calm and serene, but it's also not some really happy chirpy song. It works because it shows how different all kinds of music sounds.

It makes the show..less boring.

I like a lot of Backyardigans episodes and songs too.I am glad some of those songs have a dark tone/ mood to them.
