I had no idea they even made this. I love the Shirley Temple version so will have to check it out because it looks great. I like that classic stories like Oliver Twist and now Heidi are being remade lately. If I was a kid I would've taken these types of movies over GCI action flicks any day.

what are you talking about. The german TV series was the best, and it was filmed on location.

It's been made plenty of times, never right that I've seen. I didn't know of this version until coming here, and bought it on DVD.
