I just saw "Azur and Asmar" in Athens, GA. What a break that this movie could come to Athens. I was impressed by the gorgeous color and design of the backgrounds, and the humanity of its cast.
One question about Jenane, though? Does anyone suspect that she was the biological mother of both boys? And that both boys had the same father? I wonder if that was the motivation of Azur's father for banishing Jenane and Asmar.
I doubt that if only for logical reasons - they both were born in almost the same time, if coming from the same mother that should make them twins. Did they seem like twins to you? If anything, they can have the same father, but I really don't think so.
My guest is that Azur's mother died in childbirth, and since the nanny had her boy as well at that time, Azur was given to her for the nursing.

shareI think their mom died after Azur was born.. (or the father being the jerk that he is banished Azur's mom like he did Jenane and Asmar later).. but anyway.. Jenane raised Azur as her own son(without him actually being her son)..
even Asmar says Azur doesn't have a mother.. ( though Azur THINKS Jenane as a mother).. he also refers her as nanny not mother..
I also wonder how Jenane became a wealthy merchant after going to back to Arabia or wherever that place is..???
